The opening is green and balsamic with spice and herbal facets, cleaner and less piercing than natural galbanum oil but carrying the same essential character: fresh, resinous, and definitively natural-smelling. The heart is woody, spiced, and coniferous, with a soft orchid-like transparency that rounds out the harder edges of the green. The base is clean dry wood, with good staying power at 8 hours on a smelling strip. Compared to the essential oil, the accord is warmer, more balanced, and much more workable in a formula, with a relative odour impact of 100 versus 600 for the natural, and a concentration range that starts at nearly 3% rather than fractions of a percent.

Recommended concentration: 2.63% minimum, 15% average, up to 50% maximum in a finished compound.
