Pure Essential Oil | Piper nigrum

Black Pepper Essential Oil is a steam-distilled essential oil obtained from the dried berries of Piper nigrum. It delivers a dry, spicy warmth with subtle woody and slightly citrusy facets, adding energy and structure to perfume compositions.

Black Pepper presents a crisp spicy profile with dry heat, faint woody undertones, and a gentle aromatic lift. The aroma is sharp but refined, more sparkling than heavy, with a clean peppercorn brightness rather than a smoky or gourmand character. It adds movement and texture without sweetness.

Black Pepper functions primarily as a top-to-heart spice note, adding lift and contrast.

Recommended concentration: 0.07-5.3%

Particularly effective in:
Woody ambers, fougères, spicy florals, citrus–spice blends

Blends well with:
Citrus notes (bergamot, lemon, grapefruit)
Cardamom, nutmeg, and coriander
Woods such as cedarwood and sandalwood
Florals requiring a subtle spicy edge

Suitable for non-perfumery applications including candles, soaps, and home fragrance

Used in moderation, it sharpens and energises a composition.
