Dried Tree Bark Chips | Cinnamomum cassia

Cinnamon Chips are aromatic pieces of true cinnamon bark, prized for their warm, sweet-spiced scent and versatility in aromatic and creative applications. Cinnamomum cassia offers a balanced cinnamon aroma that integrates easily into blends without overwhelming other materials.

Raw: Warm, sweet, and gently spicy with soft woody notes and a delicate, creamy undertone.

Heated / Smouldered: When warmed or burned, cinnamon chips release a rich, comforting spice aroma. Sweet, rounded, and aromatic, with a lingering warmth that fills a space without harshness.

Cinnamon has been valued for thousands of years across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe for its fragrance, flavour, and symbolic associations. In aromatic practice, cinnamon bark is used to add warmth, lift, and energy to incense blends, potpourri, and botanical compositions.

Cinnamon chips are commonly used in loose incense blends, simmer pots, and creative aromatic work. They also have a long history of use in culinary, herbal, and beverage traditions, where Cinnamomum cassia is preferred for its strong, spicy character.

The first rule of perfumery: never work neat.

Every professional perfumer works in dilution. It's not a beginner shortcut, it's the correct way to evaluate and blend aromatic materials. At full concentration, materials smell harsh, inaccurate, and often overwhelming. You're not smelling the material, you're smelling too much of it.

When you dilute a 5ml aromatic material to a 10% solution, you extend it to 50ml of working stock. That's five times the material to experiment with, evaluate, and blend, without wasting a drop of something precious and expensive.

For powder materials like ambroxan, calone, and vanillin, dilution isn't optional, it's essential. Powders need to be fully dissolved in ethanol before they can be accurately measured, evaluated, or incorporated into a formula. Without this step, you simply can't work with them properly.

This bundle gives you everything you need to start working correctly from the first session.
