Carrier Oil | Cocos nucifera

Fractionated Coconut Oil, alo known as MTC Oil, is a lightweight, odourless carrier oil used in perfumery and cosmetic formulation to dilute, disperse, and deliver aromatic materials. Derived from coconut oil and refined to remove long-chain fatty acids, it remains clear, stable, and liquid at all temperatures.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is neutral and non-aromatic, with a dry, silky skin feel and no greasy residue. It does not interfere with fragrance materials, making it an ideal base where clarity, stability, and skin comfort are required. Its texture is light and fast-absorbing rather than rich or occlusive.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is used as a carrier and diluent, particularly for oil-based perfumes and body products.

Recommended use:
Diluting essential oils, absolutes, and aroma chemicals
Oil perfumes, roll-ons, anointing oils, and massage blends

Suitable for non-perfumery applications including skincare, balms, body oils, and hair products

Provides good oxidative stability and consistent performance

Allows accurate dosing of potent materials without adding scent or colour

It is especially useful where a clean, non-staining, non-solidifying oil is required.

The first rule of perfumery: never work neat.

Every professional perfumer works in dilution. It's not a beginner shortcut, it's the correct way to evaluate and blend aromatic materials. At full concentration, materials smell harsh, inaccurate, and often overwhelming. You're not smelling the material, you're smelling too much of it.

When you dilute a 5ml aromatic material to a 10% solution, you extend it to 50ml of working stock. That's five times the material to experiment with, evaluate, and blend, without wasting a drop of something precious and expensive.

For powder materials like ambroxan, calone, and vanillin, dilution isn't optional, it's essential. Powders need to be fully dissolved in ethanol before they can be accurately measured, evaluated, or incorporated into a formula. Without this step, you simply can't work with them properly.
