Fragrance Material | 100% Pure Essential Oil

Buddhawood Essential Oil is a steam-distilled essential oil obtained from the heartwood of Eremophila mitchellii, used in perfumery to provide smooth woody depth with soft smoky and balsamic facets. It offers a distinctly Australian woody profile that sits between cedar, sandalwood, and amber notes.

Buddhawood Essential Oil presents a dry, woody profile with gentle smoke, soft leather, and subtle resinous warmth. The aroma is calm and rounded rather than sharp, with a slightly sweet, meditative quality that develops slowly. It reads modern and grounding, adding depth without heaviness or aggression.

Buddhawood functions primarily as a base note, contributing structure, warmth, and longevity.

Recommended concentration: 0.2–10%

Particularly effective in:
Woody, amber, and incense-style compositions
Natural and botanical fragrance structures

Blends well with:
Woods (sandalwood, cedarwood, hinoki)
Resins (frankincense, labdanum, benzoin)
Spices and soft florals for contrast

Suitable for non-perfumery applications including candles, body oils, soaps, and home fragrance

It adds quiet depth and a cohesive base without dominating other materials.

The first rule of perfumery: never work neat.

Every professional perfumer works in dilution. It's not a beginner shortcut, it's the correct way to evaluate and blend aromatic materials. At full concentration, materials smell harsh, inaccurate, and often overwhelming. You're not smelling the material, you're smelling too much of it.

When you dilute a 5ml aromatic material to a 10% solution, you extend it to 50ml of working stock. That's five times the material to experiment with, evaluate, and blend, without wasting a drop of something precious and expensive.

For powder materials like ambroxan, calone, and vanillin, dilution isn't optional, it's essential. Powders need to be fully dissolved in ethanol before they can be accurately measured, evaluated, or incorporated into a formula. Without this step, you simply can't work with them properly.
