Size 100ml

Diethyl Phthalate (DEP) is a fixative and solvent used in perfumery. Virtually odourless in use, it works silently behind the scenesm anchoring compositions, extending wear, and lending a polished consistency that makes it a staple in artisan and commercial fragrance production.

DEP has a very faint, clean, and slightly sweet character that is imperceptible in finished compositions. It does not contribute meaningfully to the aromatic profile of a blend; rather, it functions as an invisible structural support. It is prized for its excellent solvency, low volatility, and ability to smooth and unify fragrance materials, particularly in alcohol-based applications.

DEP is used primarily as a fixative, diluent, and solvent in fragrance and cosmetic formulation.
Recommended usage:

Diluent and fixative in fine fragrance and eau de parfum/toilette formulations

Extends the longevity and tenacity of top and heart notes in alcohol-based perfumes

Improves the solubility of difficult or poorly miscible aromatic materials

Carrier for fragrance compounds in body sprays, splash colognes, and cosmetic preparations

Useful for pre-diluting viscous or potent aroma chemicals for accurate weighing and blending

DEP slows the evaporation of volatile top notes, helping to balance the development of a fragrance on skin over time.
