Fragrance Material | Synthetic Blend

Black Tea Accord is a complex fragrance base inspired by the aroma of brewed black tea leaves. It captures the dry bitterness of steeped tea with subtle fruity-wine nuances that soften into a rounded, herbal warmth.

Black Tea Accord opens with bitter black tea leaf facets and a fleeting wine-like nuance that gives brightness and lift. As it settles, the aroma becomes smoother and slightly sweeter, revealing a dry herbal tea character with layered complexity. It feels textured and nuanced, balancing tannic dryness with warmth and depth.

Black Tea Accord functions primarily as a heart-to-base modifier, adding structure and sophistication.

Recommended concentration: 1-30%

Particularly effective in:
Tea accords, aromatic woods, dry florals, contemporary niche-style compositions

Blends well with:
Citrus notes for lift
Rose, jasmine, and violet for floral tea effects
Woods and musks for structure
Spices and light resins for warmth

Suitable for non-perfumery applications such as candles and home fragrance where a refined tea character is desired.

Used in moderation, it provides depth and dimension without overpowering.

The first rule of perfumery: never work neat.

Every professional perfumer works in dilution. It's not a beginner shortcut, it's the correct way to evaluate and blend aromatic materials. At full concentration, materials smell harsh, inaccurate, and often overwhelming. You're not smelling the material, you're smelling too much of it.

When you dilute a 5ml aromatic material to a 10% solution, you extend it to 50ml of working stock. That's five times the material to experiment with, evaluate, and blend, without wasting a drop of something precious and expensive.

For powder materials like ambroxan, calone, and vanillin, dilution isn't optional, it's essential. Powders need to be fully dissolved in ethanol before they can be accurately measured, evaluated, or incorporated into a formula. Without this step, you simply can't work with them properly.

This bundle gives you everything you need to start working correctly from the first session.
