Essential Oil | Lavandula x intermedia

Lavandin is a natural hybrid between true lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia), and Grosso is the most widely cultivated variety in the world. It dominates the purple-flowering fields of Provence far more than true lavender does, covering roughly four times the area. The Grosso cultivar has been grown commercially since the 1930s and is sterile by nature, reproduced only by cuttings, with long stems and two lateral flowering branches that give the characteristic wave of purple across the landscape in July and August.

Lavandin Grosso presents a clean, assertive lavender profile with pronounced herbal and camphoraceous facets. Compared to Lavandula angustifolia, it is sharper and more aromatic, with a greener edge and increased diffusion. Its character is fresh, bracing, and distinctly modern, making it especially effective in functional and aromatic blends.

Lavandin Grosso functions primarily as a top-to-heart note, offering strong lift and clarity.

Recommended concentration:
Fine fragrance: 0.5–4%

Blends well with:
Citrus (lemon, bergamot, eucalyptus)
Herbal notes (rosemary, clary sage)
Woods (cedarwood, pine)
Resins and ambers for contrast

Particularly well suited to non-perfumery applications including soaps, detergents, cleaning products, candles, and home fragrance

Its strength and diffusion make it ideal for fresh, aromatic, and functional scent profiles.
