Boronia Absolute (CO2 Extracted)
Boronia Absolute (CO2 Extracted)
Absolute | Boronia megastigma
Boronia absolute is one of the rarest and most expensive natural aromatic materials in the world. It is produced from the flowers of Boronia megastigma, a small shrub endemic to the southwest of Western Australia, and it takes approximately 250 kilograms of flowers to yield a single kilogram of absolute. The oil is renowned in fine fragrance for its extraordinary beta-ionone richness, which gives it a character somewhere between violet, raspberry, and a deep, honeyed floral warmth that is unlike anything else in the natural palette.
This batch is from specialty farm in west Gippsland, Victoria I have recently devloped a personal relationship with. The absolute is CO2 extracted without hexane. The concrete has been fully winterised to remove excessive waxes and long-chain fatty acids. Quality analysis is conducted in partnership with Southern Cross University’s Analytical Research Laboratory in Lismore, and full GCMS and physical data for the batch are available on request.
